Getting ready for my Commencement Show

Studio, November 2010
It’s been a very busy past few weeks! I’ve been working on my Senior Thesis for the past year, and I’ll finally be graduating at the end of this week. My body of work has been kind of all over the place, and about three weeks ago I decided to scrap most of my finalized drawings that I had planned to put in my Commencement Show. I’ve since then been working on five new drawings, and/or tweaking past drawings to fit into my vision of what I want.
In the meantime, the rest of my life seems to have been put on hold. My apartment has not been cleaned in more than a month. I can’t remember the last time I did laundry. Showers are infrequent, and I’m just glad I can remember what day of the week it is so I don’t miss going to my 2 part-time jobs. Also, I’ve decided that sharing in-progress work with loved ones, e.g., my fiance, is not the best thing to do. Especially if I’m already stressed out about a show, a move back to Yuba City, California, and finding a job within the upcoming months in order to do a final move to San Francisco. Musings of, “Oh GOD, my work isn’t good enough! HE HATES MY WORK SO HE HATES ME!” are not conducive to productivity, and really just underline the fact that I am hyperbolic.
But, all in all, with just 5 days before the opening of my commencement show and graduation, I am finally getting back to normal.
